The hedge fund industry has changed dramatically over the last decade. With this growth, the need to screen thousands of funds and then analyze and evaluate the remainder in order to find the opportunities requires a defined investment philosophy and disciplined process.

SPI was founded and the funds are managed based on several core principles:

Talented Managers/Defensive Strategy: Invest in funds with talented managers and a hedged approach to stock market investing, based on market fundamentals, as opposed to quantitative analysis or timing strategies.

Opportunities: Emphasize less efficient sectors of the capital markets.

Risk Management: Diversify risks that cannot be hedged (through strategies and managers).

Alignment of Interests: Align interests between SPI principals and investors through significant investments.

Ongoing Monitoring: Review managers continually on an in-depth basis.
